For Addie's birthday she had a Winter Wonderland Celebration!
We had a lot of fun getting everything ready for it.
Addie only wanted to go ice skating for her party, but after Scott and I took her and it was a 2 person job just to get her to kind of skate, I knew there was no way we could manage a group of 4 year olds on the ice, so she had to settle for bringing winter inside.
We made little party favors. My vision was to make carmel popcorn and form them into balls and call them snowballs. My vision failed because I used to wrong recipe. Though it was very delicious, the popcorn didn't stick together and form a ball at all. Oh well. The had yummy popcorn to take home!
We played pin the nose on the snowman.
Please note Addie's ensemble.
We saw "Frozen" on Christmas and Addie informed me that she now wanted her party to be a "Frozen" party. Welllllll, I didn't actually change anything about the party. I just bought the movie soundtrack and played the music in the background the whole time and she dressed up like "Ana" from the movie. That was enough to satisfy her! Awesome.
Scott even got in on the snowman action.
He's such a fun dad!
Then we played a snowball toss game with jumbo marshmallows.
They had to toss the marshmallows into some bowls.
As planned, the game turned into a giant snowball fight!
It was pure chaos!
Sooooo much fun.
It was definitely the hit of the party.
Again, Scott and my awesome friend that came to help out (Thank You!) made that a blast!
Then it was time for ice skating.
Scott's mom helped me figure out how to make some 'ice skates' out of milk jugs and elastic.
The kids quickly discovered that the kitchen floor was the best to slip around.
Unfortunately our kitchen is TINY so it wasn't great, but they still had fun.
Everyone had fun except for the birthday girl.
All of the attention and chaos of that many little kids got to her and she was pretty pouty for most of the party. She refused to do the snowball fight and only ice skated for the last 30 seconds.
Maybe someday she'll appreciate her party.
Group shot! Note the only grumpy child is the birthday girl. Boo.
She perked up once the treats came out.
She requested hot chocolate with marshmallows and candy canes.
One of her favorite treats. Scott makes the best hot chocolate!
Cupcake time!
She got seriously spoiled by all of her friends. They know her too well! She got lot's of princess and dress up things. Perfect!
I had a lot of fun planning a special party for our little "Ana."
Hopefully next time she'll have fun at her birthday party:)
