At Scott's school they have blocks that are about 6 weeks long and at the end of the block classes stop and they have a week full of tests on all of the stuff they learned through the block. I am proud to say that Scott has successfully finished his first block of medical school! Last week was his test week and he did great on all of his tests! I am so proud of how well he did. He worked really hard during the entire block and it definitely paid off. Good job Scott!
The weekend after a block finishes is kind of considered a free weekend, which we definitely took advantage of. This meant that as soon as his test was over on Friday afternoon he didn't have to study until this morning. We celebrated his being done with tests by going to the Astro's game with our friends the Brames and Caywoods. It was our first time at a professional baseball game, and although the Astro's lost miserably, we still had a lot of fun. The game even had a great fireworks show at the end!
Saturday started by Scott actually getting to sleep in for the first time in a
couple of weeks! Then we got a picnic packed and head down to Galveston to go to the beach. The beach in Galveston is nothing like the beaches in Hawaii or even California, but it's still a beach, which automatically makes it fun. We had a lot of fun just hanging out and doing nothing at the beach. We tossed around a football, played cards, swam, and ate a bunch of unhealthy food!
