It's True What They Say...

Everything really is bigger in Texas! Especially the bugs! While we were at church, my friend, Nicole, was telling me about their horrible experience with a giant cockroach that they'd found in their apartment the night before. As she was telling me I just kept on thinking, "Thank goodness we haven't had any giant bugs in our apartment." Well, I thought too soon.

As soon as we got home from church it happened! We walk into the bedroom and were just talking to each other. All of a sudden, Scott points at the floor and shouts something. I whipped around as fast as I could, just in time to see a huge cockroach flying at a seemingly impossible speed underneath my night stand! I screamed in the exact same way Nicole said she had done the day before. After a quick assessment of the situation, we decided to capture it in a small tupperware. This wasn't easy because the bug had gone under the night stand and bed area, and it was really fast. At first we couldn't find where it had gone and I was terrified that it was going to be able to roam freely through our apartment until we found it again. Luckily we found it, and Scott, being the good husband that he is, captured him. We weren't sure what to do after we'd found him because we didn't want him to come back. We ended up throwing it away, tupperware and all, down the garbage chute outside of our apartment.

These pictures don't show quite how big the cockroach is, so you'll just have to take our word for it when we say that it was HUGE!
