Best Family Ever!

That's right.  We have the best family ever. Scott and I were wanting to take a vacation with just the two of us to celebrate his graduation.  My sister, Sarah, just graduated college and had a few weeks off where she wouldn't be working yet so we asked her if she would fly to Houston to watch the kids for us so we could go on a cruise.  She said yes.  I know, she's awesome!  After thinking about this plan, there were a million things making me nervous.  I just couldn't pull the trigger on it.  After talking to my mom about it, she came up with a plan of her own.  She called me up one night and told me she had the perfect plan!  She offered to have us drop the kids off in Utah at their house, and have my sister watch them in a place that my sister actually knows.  This way she'd also have reinforcements after everyone got home from work and school and wouldn't be completely on her own.  Then my mom suggested we go wherever we want from there.  Oh, and I left out another awesome detail, my parents planned an awesome Disneyland trip that would be the week after our alone trip.  In the end, we decided to drop the kids off and head to HAWAII!!!! Then after our trip, my parents would bring the kids to LA and we would have an awesome week at Disneyland with my whole family.  Talk about the vacation of a lifetime.  Like I said, they're the best.

I'm going to be playing catch up from our vacation over the next few days, mostly for journaling sake.  So here goes!

The kids did great on our plane ride to Utah, and I was in heaven having Scott with me on the airplane. It was so weird having help getting through security and everything else.

Once in Utah, we had 24 hours before Scott and I headed to LA so we spent the time playing with the kids and getting them used to my parent's house, and making sure my sister knew all she needed to for them.

In that 24 hour window, Addie discovered my wedding dress and baptism dress and insisted we put them on to spin.  I was hesitant because I didn't want the sadness that would come from my dress not fitting anymore.  To my surprise, Sarah got the zipper up easily!!!  It was definitely snug in some places that it was not before, but I'm just going to glory in the zipper going up.
We headed to the city park where the kids had a blast and learned how to rock climb.  Ok, Bennett didn't learn.  He just  posed for a picture.
But Addie did great at scaling the wall.

I love Bennett's face here!
Bennett saw this little lady and ran straight to her to hold her hand.  He likes older women.
In the afternoon, it was time to say goodbye to our kiddos.  Hardest thing ever!  I had such a hard time leaving them.  The only thing that made it okay was knowing they were in such good hands.

Walking into the airport was the strangest feeling.  I didn't have a single bag or sippy cup to worry about.  I wasn't stressing if we had the binky or not.  I didn't even have a purse.  I had my phone in my pocket and that's it.  I felt a little lost.  The flight was so relaxing and we even got to do the crossword puzzle like old times!
