A Good Laugh

I know I've already posted today, but we had a good laugh tonight and I wanted to write about it so that we'll remember.

Tonight when we put Addie to bed we did the usual routine, sing a song, give her lots of hugs and kisses, put her in her crib, give her a pacifier and put the blanket in her arms to cuddle with.

With Addie's new standing up in her crib trick, bedtime takes a little longer than it used to. Within a minute of leaving I heard Addie whining. I knew she had stood up and wouldn't go to sleep unless I laid her back down... we're still working on teaching her how to get back down.

I went in her room, quickly laid her back down and was on my way out when I realized that her sheets had a big wet spot on them. I thought that she must've spit up (since she's always doing that) or drooled a lot.

Right before I walked out the door I noticed a diaper down at the end of her crib and thought, "I wonder why Scott put a random diaper in her crib..." (Because when there's only two grown ups in a house and I know I didn't do something, then it must've been Scott).

Anyway, the light bulb suddenly came on and I pulled up Addie's nightgown only to discover a bare little bum. In less than a minute Addie had managed to get her diaper off, put it on one end of the crib, get to the other end of the crib, make a mess along the way, pull herself up and reach for the door. Oh, how I wish I could have seen it happen.

Our little girl is a character. Just one more reason why we love her.

PS She will no longer be wearing open nightgowns to bed.

I just told dad this and got more of a smile out of him than when I told him I was president. (he didn't believe me)
