Merry Christmas to everyone! Christmas was a little different for us this year than it's ever been before because we weren't able to spend it with our families. With the baby's due date being the 29th, we couldn't travel so we just stayed in Houston. We were pretty sad that we wouldn't be able to spend Christmas with our families, but it ended up being a pretty awesome Christmas with just the two of us! We were able to mesh Ellsworth and Clark traditions and come up with some new traditions of our own. It was great to get to spend so much time with just each other and have nothing else to worry about!
On Wednesday night we drove around the Heights neighborhood to look at some Christmas lights. There were some houses that were seriously decked out and glowing.
We had our very own Christmas Eve dinner complete with a turkey.
That's two turkeys we've now successfully cooked!
Of course with our dinner we had to have "fresh lime." It's a Clark tradition to have this drink made with limes, sugar, water and Sprite.
How could you go wrong with a combination like that?!
One of Scott's favorite things to eat at Christmastime is shrimp. I do not share his joy in this tradition, which he likes because it means more shrimp for him!
Here is the aftermath of Christmas morning with presents and wrapping paper scattered around the living room. Scott is already to work on trying out the new headphones he got from his parents.
On Christmas morning my family always has a massive breakfast, so of course, we had to follow suit! We had omelets, bacon, hash browns, pineapple and orange juice. It was a lot of food!
After breakfast and a couple of hours talking to our families on the web cam we headed out for an Ellsworth tradition, which is seeing a movie on Christmas day. We went to "Sherlock Holmes." It was a nice change for us to go to the movie theatre, instead of the cheap $1 redbox movies!
Although we missed our families, we had a great Christmas with just the two of us. We're especially excited for next year when we'll have our little girl to share in the fun with us!

I figured I would starts the comments for this post just because I know you love it so much! My favorite part is as I just told you is that you do not share the joy of the shrimp. I do not share that joy either. But the rest of the dinner looked fantastic and now I am just craving fresh lime!
We went to a movie on Christmas too! I love that tradition :) It was between Sherlock Holmes and Avatar.. and ended up choosing Avatar. It was good! How was Sherlock Holmes? Jon is dying to see it! We miss you guys!
