Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! To celebrate we did a couple of things this year. Last Monday, for family night, we made sugar cookies in the shape of pumpkins, ghosts and cats, then we frosted them. Unfortunately, I accidentally double the amount of sugar in the recipe, so the cookies were a flop! But we had fun frosting them with orange frosting!
On Friday night we had a little Halloween bash with our friends, the Brames. Here is a picture of our attempt at costumes. I was a black cat, complete with tail and whiskers that aren't too visible in this picture. Scott was David Beckham. I must say, he is more handsome than the original Beckham:)
The Brames dressed up as Mulan and Richard Simmons. Very creative!
We carved pumpkins. Well, we carved a pumpkin. Neither of us realized how difficult it is to come by a pumpkin the night before Halloween. Scott and I were lucky to find one of the last pumpkins at Randall's. Even though it was kind of moldy, it was better than no pumpkin!
The credit really has to go to the boys for the awesome pumpkin carving took place. They worked very hard to create quite the masterpiece!
The final product. If you can't tell, it's a werewolf.
We were going to make carmel apples, but realized our carmel wasn't deep enough to really fit an apple in, so we ended up cutting up all of the apples and dipping them in the carmel fondue style.
This is what it ended up looking like. Not too pretty, but delicious with M&M's and all!
On Saturday night we went to the ward's Trunk or Treat. Our friends, the Ences, had such awesome costumes, that I had to take a picture of them. They dressed up as a Wildthing and Max from the book and movie.

I like this post!! I would have to say that I am extremely impressed with that werewolf pumpkin! I also like the costume. I wasn't surprised that Scott was Beckam again, but I guess it works for him.
