Primping

Our girl is a girly girl. If you've read here before, you already know Addie's obsession with shoes, especially high heels. She also loves brushing her hair and getting in to my makeup. She even sits so still for me to do her hair every day!

Ever since Grandma bought her her own makeup kit at Disneyland, she's gotten even prissier. Dad's so nice that he even helps out!
The mirror must be held just so.
The eyeshadow's a real hit.
Close your eyes!
Top it all off with a manicure.
What a pampered little girl!

Trick or Treat!

This was Addie's first Halloween that she could say, "Trick or Treat!"

And, boy, did she love it!

Our future Cougar, went as a BYU cheerleader... thanks to Grandma for sending us the outfit!
She cheered her heart out!
"Go Cougars!"
"Touchdown!"
"Cheese!"
We went to the trunk or treat with another friend, who also didn't have her husband to go with.
Scott's on a super busy rotation right now. We weren't sure if he would get home in time to come. I held off taking Addie around to the trunks, so we could do it when he, hopefully, made it. She became the candy passer-outer. At first she was more than happy about her job, until she realized that it was delicious candy she was giving to other people and they were not giving her any back!
She got distracted when her friends came bye and had fun putting candy in their baskets.
Then Dad made it!
*I know the pic is so bright, but look at how they are to be with each other*
Dad stepped right up and took Addie around to a lot of trunks.
I didn't realize the amount of brownie points we'd be scoring with Addie's outfit, but there were a lot of BYU football loving husbands passing out the candy and they gave her handfuls because they loved her costume!

Then she found another friend and they chased each other around the parking lot for seriously 20 min straight. Pure sugar high!
The girl came home with a lot of loot.
We put her to bed.
We will not speak of what happened to the candy once the cheerleader went to bed...

The Happiest Place on Earth, Revisited

Last year Addie and I were so lucky to get to go to Disneyland with my family! Unfortunately, we both got the flu, so the trip was a little rough. Scott didn't get to come either because of school.

A couple weeks ago my Dad called asking if we'd like to join them again! And this time, the trip landed on Scott's fall break! So off to California we headed, all of us!

This was Addie's 1st and FAVORITE ride!
Look at all those cute red-heads.
I got after Scott for putting her on a horse that I couldn't get a picture of when it was still. When the carousel moved, it made all my pictures fuzzy.
Then he told me that he chose that horse for her because it had an "A" on it.
What a cute Daddy.

In the "Monkey Cage" riding the Casey Jr. Train
Our 1st failed family pic attempt

Our 2nd failed attempt.
The sun was so bright!
Addie loves to "cheese" for the camera.
While all the adults rode Splash Mt. Addie went on the Winnie the Pooh ride over and over!

Admiring the castle.
3rd failed attempt
At least we can get cute pics of her.
Addie's very favorite thing at Disneyland:
the slide.
I guess it was just familiar territory.
Probably our best family picture.
Sad, but true.
More horsey rides.
Waving like a rodeo queen.
Showering her fans with kisses.
Scott was obviously enthused about the teacups.
Small World with the grandparents.
Delicious Cheesecake Factory for dinner!
Addie spilled her water all over her outfit.
She had to shed some layers and wear my jacket.
They look like they're about to get into some major trouble.
Grandma found Addie a Minnie Mouse (fake) makeup set.
This is a heaven sent for me.
Now when I do my makeup, I pull out Addie's makeup and she leaves my real stuff alone. Her favorite is spraying the perfume.
Going for a dip in the chilly pool.
Showing off for Papa.
Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome trip! We had so much fun and are so glad you invited us along!

Finished!

I finally finished the quilt for Addie's 'big bed."

She was very excited to jump on the bed as soon as I put it on!

Thanks Mom for the fabric. I had a blast making it! I didn't think I would ever see the end, but it came and I am so happy with the way it turned out.

PS Addie has been seriously terrified of the 'big bed' when it comes to sleeping in it. We've been trying to warm her up to it and a couple days ago she took her first nap in it! She hasn't been back since, but we're okay with that. We feel like she's jumped a major hurdle in actually being willing to lay down on it... she really wouldn't lay down at all without screaming bloody murder. We'll take the progress!
PPS Note the Chik Fil A cow that is her current constant companion. She loves cuddling with her cow. Best free toy ever.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday mornings minus Dad, that is.

Scott had call all night Saturday, so it was an all girls Sunday morning. Addie gets really sad when Dad's not there in the mornings, so to distract her I asked if she wanted to make pancakes.

"Cupcakes!" she screamed. She doesn't know pancakes, but it sounds a whole lot like another word she's very familiar with, so she was on board with the idea.

She's great at stirring.
And setting the table.
"This milk is heavy!
I need a rest."
"Almost got it!"
She also decided to take over my seat.
And even managed to not get everything syrupy.
The girl really loves her 'dip.'
She almost out eats me with pancakes!
Just after we finished eating pancakes Dad made it home and off to church we went as a whole family. We were so glad he made it home in time to come!
