Staycation

Last week Scott had a vacation week!  Yay!!!!!
A few months ago I found a killer deal to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in town, so we decided to book a trip during the random week Scott had off.

We started with some coloring...

Poor Bennett was exhausted.  We only let him take a tiny nap before we went to the hotel.
We were too excited for the playing to begin to give him a full nap.
We did a lot of swimming at the water park, then decided to hit up the outlet malls to find me a dressing for an upcoming wedding.  Bennett screamed like a Banshee in the dressing room for the pretty much the entire hour it took me to find the right dress.

We then headed to Chipotle for dinner, where Bennett found some much needed happiness.

We headed back to the hotel and got the kids in their jammies so we could play some bingo and have story time.

Bennett found a random balloon.
If you know him well, you know nothing makes him happier than a balloon.
If you look closely you can see that he's wearing Addie's fuzzy boots.  He insisted on them.  It was hilarious to seem him running around in those things whacking his balloon around.

 Story time.

The next morning we headed to the arcade while we waited for the water park to open.
We lost Addie for a second right when we got in there.
This is where we found her.
You ride that bullet bike, sweetie!

The kids didn't really get the games.
They were just as happy pressing all the buttons without using the tokens, so Scott happily used up all the tokens on this basketball game.

They had some characters that you could meet.
Addie particularly loved this one, though Bennet was leery.

The kids loved this little pool the best.
We spent a lot of time here.

Addie loved this blue water slide!
We sent Bennett down it once, and he did not love it, so he avoided it.

After a long nap, it was craft time.  The kids made some sand art.
Addie lovingly gave it to her dad so that he could put it on his nightstand for decoration.

Then off to to outlets for some shoe shopping, then dinner at our favorite midwest establishment, Culver's.

Our last morning was spent at the water park.

Bennett shocked us when he went to the top of this slide, hopped in and slid down all by himself!
We were so proud.
After that, he and Addie went on that slide about 30 times.

One of our favorite things was the family hot tub!
(It's impossible to get a family picture.  This is the best I could do.)

We had a blast on our staycation.  The best part was just having Scott around all week long!
