Snowmageddon 2014 came and went.
It dumped about 8 inches of snow in 24 hours and left the city a complete mess!
We didn't leave our house for 4 days, which is saying something because I am not a homebody at all!
I had to get creative to keep the kids entertained. In the end, it was kind of nice just staying home and being with each other, not worrying about anything outside our little house.
The whole city completely shut down and there was no school and most people had work cancelled.
Unfortunately, Scott has one of those jobs that, not only doesn't get cancelled when disasters strike, it actually gets busier, so we didn't see much of him during those few days.
Don't let this picture fool you into thinking Scott shovels the driveway.
He's never home when it needs to be done, so I'm the one that gets that job, with kids in tow.
Bennett HATES to be out there in the cold so after about 4 minutes I put him in the car to play with some fruit snacks to buy myself a little more time.
The kids had an hour long bath every day to chew up some time.
Bennett is a riot in the tub. The whole bathroom gets completely soaked!
Addie wanted to spend the day fancy, so she got in her church dress, we painted her nails and she got a fancy hairdo (crown braid).
We also did some baking. I'm still working on perfecting cinnamon rolls.
Thank goodness for this Christmas present!
We spend countless hours playing blocks.
This day we made garages for all of the cars.
We also made trophies.
This kid loves to take pics of himself.
The snow banks were taller than Bennett!
In her morning prayer, Addie prayed that Bennett wouldn't get lost in the snow because it was so deep.
There were also lot's of tea parties.
Bennett and I spent some time cuddling on the heat vent.
Addie, our budding photographer, captured it on camera.
I'm one lucky girl, Scott made me a Lego crown.
Then we made a Lego tower taller than him.
I'd like to say the kids helped, but this was all us.
If only our kids realized how cool their parents are:)
And of course, snowmageddon included lot's of cuddling while watching movies!
