Thanksgiving in Texas

For Thanksgiving this year we were lucky enough to be able to venture back to the great state of Texas!  Scott's sister, Laura and her family just moved to Dallas a few months ago and bought their first house.  Since it's only an 8 hour drive and Scott was on an easy rotation that he could get away from, we made the trek back to Texas!
Oh, how we've missed it!

We had great fun on the drive.

Scott carved the bird beautifully, like he always does.
I really don't have a lot of pictures of the actual meal because we were too busy cooking, eating and having a great time with Laura's family.  We were also lucky to have Scott's best friend, Jason and his parents over to the house for the festivities.  Addie was thrilled to have some adoptive grandparents!
Addie didn't want to sit by Scott and I at dinner.  We got her plate ready and she said, "I want to sit at the cool table!"  She was referring to the table with Jason's parents.  Haha!  So she sat with Jason and his parents the whole meal and loved it.  His dad was so sweet to cut all her meat and help her dish everything up. She ate up all of the attention!

My kids LOVE licking beaters.  Beaters with fresh whipped cream are a house favorite.

Bennett didn't stop at just the beater.  He found a spoon and went straight for the bowl.

Remember how Addie can't get enough of dressing up?
Well, I should have brought her some for the trip, because she spent a lot of time either in Laura's closet or begging to be in Laura's closet and rigging up Laura's clothes into some sort of dress up.She loved it!

We enjoyed the gorgeous Texas weather and went to a park.

We had our first family game of tag.  Addie finally caught on and loved it!  There's a video of it at the end of the post.

Addie's been harassing me about how this cart has an empty spot so we need to have a baby to fill it.  When we went shopping with Brooklyn, I made sure Addie noted the full cart!
We also went to the Fort Worth Christkindl Market.
It was adorable!

Scott tried his best to ruin all the family pics of the day.

Awwww, cute siblings with their babies!

Our most delicious schnitzel sandwich.  Sooooo good!
Before leaving the great state of Texas I had to get my favorite chips and salsa of all time!
I haven't found any chips and salsa in Kansas City that even come close, so I bought a HUGE order that I ate every day for lunch for the next week.  So happy!

We had such a great time with family for Thanksgiving!
Thanks Laura for letting us crash at your house!
