I was talking to my mom and on the phone and telling her how excited Addie and I were to make Addie's Valentines and her box to put them in!
My mom informed me that my first year doing this holiday with kids, was her first year not having to do it, in a very long time, and she was excited about that.
I'm sure someday I'll be excited to not hafta do all this kind of stuff, but for now, I'm loving that Addie's at an age where she gets really excited about anything that I make sound exciting:)
For family home evening we helped Addie make her valentines for her friends.
She was over the moon excited about the princess valentines that we found.
I was a little worried she wouldn't give them away.
We had a talk about sharing.
When she was saying her prayers that night I was helping her and told her to say, "Please bless me to be a good friend." She promptly turned to me and whispered very reverently, "And share my valentines with my friends."
Some of her friends came over and we decorated boxes for valentines.
I prepped all her 'embellishments' and then had her put them where she wanted. She topped it off with some beautiful coloring.
She did a great job of putting a valentine in each kids' box.
I tried to get a cute pic of her running around with her friends dressed up in her adorable valentiney outfit, but she was a little overwhelmed by everything going on and mostly stuck to my side.
Happy Valentine's Day!
