Adventures in San Antonio

After living in Texas for almost two years, we finally made it out to San Antonio! After weeks of brutal tests, Scott was ready for a little break (that is, before he has to get ready for the most brutal test of his life coming up in June).

We hung out on the riverwalk.

All I wanted was a picture, but Addie wanted to scare the daylights out of me by getting a little closer to the river.

Mexican for dinner.
And that's where the happiness ends. Pretty soon after dinner, Addie started throwing up. And it kept on coming. We headed back to our hotel and decided to turn in for the night so she could get feeling better. The poor girl was sick all night long and woke up every 30 minutes until the sun came up.

When she was miraculously sleeping, Scott and I weren't because hotwire gave us the worst hotel, positioned conveniently underneath the freeway. We were lulled to sleep by the sounds of semi's engine braking all night long. Next time we'll spring the few extra bucks for a better place!

When morning finally came, all of us were exhausted and Scott and I were starting to feel queasy! We decided, to make the best of it and try to go and do a few more things.

We went to Lulu's for their famous 3 lb. cinnamon roll.
Addie finally got some rest.
Too bad we couldn't crawl in there with her.
We remembered the Alamo.
Then went home. We didn't get to most of the things we had planned for the weekend. We were just soooo glad to get home!

Oh no! That's no fun that Addie got sick! It's hard to enjoy a vacation with no sleep and a sick kid. I hope you're all feeling back up to snuff now. Is Scott studying fiercely for the Step? Sean hasn't taken it yet and probably won't for a year but he's very much not looking forward to it.
