Story Time
Scott and I designed our wedding cake together. It had four tiers. Along with all the decorations, we each chose our own special flavor combination. Our flavors had two tiers each. My flavor was on the top and bottom tier (chocolate cake with buttercream...simple, but oh so good!). Scott's flavor was on the middle two tiers (golden yellow cake with raspberry cream cheese filling and cream cheese frosting). There was an equal amount of both flavors.
At the reception, when we cut into the cake, we of course cut into the bottom tier and smashed it into each other's faces. With all of the craziness of the reception and getting ready to leave on our honeymoon, that was all the cake we tasted. Our moms, of course, saved us the top tier to eat on our one year anniversary (which we ate as soon as we got home from our honeymoon).
Do you see where this story is going?
Scott did not get to taste a single bite of his original flavor.
And he has never let me forget it! So for Valentine's Day I decided to recreate his wedding cake. I made individual cakes with all of his requirements for the wedding cake. He was so surprised and boy, did I have a happy man! It only took 3 1/2 years, but I eventually got him his cake!
My only requirement is that I get no more grief about the wedding cake!
