Playing Hooky

The past several weeks have been a little rough on the Ellsworth Family. Poor Scott had a week and a half worth of tests and weeks of intense studying leading up to those tests. To celebrate being done with tests we pack up the car last weekend and went up to Dallas for the BYU v. TCU football game (a blog post is in the works... maybe). We had a blast with friends, but it was kind of a hectic weekend. Not really the break Scott needed.

So on Friday Scott decided to play hooky!

We had so much fun having our Daddy back! We started off the day by heading down to the beach. Addie had so much fun two weeks ago and I was sad that Scott didn't get to come with, so we made a family trip down to Galveston.

Addie was an angel and slept the entire car ride there, thanks to her new big-girl car seat. Sidenote: She loves her new car seat. It's so massive and cush that it's like her own royal throne in the back seat. Who wouldn't love to ride like that?!
Lately Addie has been making this growling type smiling face. It is just about the cutest face ever. If you get the growling smile out of her, you can feel satisfied in knowing that you truly made her happy.
There was lot's of playing in the sand,
and walking in the waves with Dad.
The beach was great, though the weather was a tad on the blustery side. This made the waves a little large for a baby. Good thing Dad was there to lift her up over the bigger ones.

A few months ago we were watching one of our favorite shows, "Diner's Drive In's and Dive's." This episode featured a place down in Kemah, which is pretty close to Galveston. As we watched the episode, Scott had to try hard to keep from salivating all over the couch. He vowed that we would go to that restaurant. So, Friday seemed like the perfect time!

This place did not disappoint. Scott had some big expectations for T-Bone Tom's and all of those expectations were surpassed.

How can you go wrong when your entire table is full of fried goodness?
I am being completely honest when I tell you that I have almost (excluding our wedding day and the day Addie was born) never seen Scott so happy as when he bit into the "Armadillo Eggs," which have nothing to do with armadillos. We will definitely be making another trip to this restaurant.
We ended the day with some window shopping at the Galleria. We couldn't afford to actually buy anything but had fun looking and dreaming of the day when we might actually have an income:)

We had so much fun spending the day as a family. It was great to have Scott completely to ourselves!
