Get Ready, It's a Big One!

I had big plans of blogging each day that Nate and Jamie were here so that this didn't happen. As you can see, I didn't succeed with those plans. So, here goes, the rest of Nate and Jamie's visit!

On Saturday we headed down to Galveston to go to the beach! Of course, Addie needed a nap as soon as we got there and I didn't think she would take one in the blistering hot weather. Addie surprised me and slept like a champ on a blanket under the umbrella.

While she slept, everyone played in the nice warm water... gotta love the gulf. Once the munchkin was up, she was ready to play! She did great with her first trip to the beach. At first, she wasn't quite sure about the waves. They were a little scary. She got used to them and liked them, if she was being held tightly.


Our next water adventure was Discovery Green downtown. As you may have noticed, you don't do anything in Houston in the summer unless it's inside or in water. In the middle of downtown, right next to where the Astros and the Rockets play is an awesome park with fountains.

It was so hot, that Jamie and I even got in on the fun with all of the 6 and 7 year olds. We got drenched with all of our clothes on and it felt so good!
Then it was off to the pool!

Last, but certainly not least, was the Children's Museum.

Amazing.

I had fun as an adult! If you ever come to Houston, you have to come here! We were busy for hours. We went while Scott was at work, but it was so much fun, that we went home to eat and grab Scott, then went back for a couple more hours.



Again, Addie surprised us by actually realizing what was going on around her. There's a place just for little kids and she had a blast. She drove Nate around the block. We set her in the seat and she acted like she was a seasoned driver. She took the wheel, stood up with no help and started turning that wheel like she knew what she was doing.

We had so much fun with Nate and Jamie. We had a jam packed few days, and got a ton of fun things in. Thanks for coming to visit us!
