The Weekend

What an awesome weekend we just had! The best part about it was, Scott didn't have to study, not even for a minute! He had tests last week and as soon as his last test was over on Friday afternoon, the playing began.

We took advantage of actually having time and finally made it up to the temple. Since Addie's not quite ready for a babysitter yet, we took her with us and did our temple work in shifts. Luckily the Houston heat hadn't kicked in yet, so we were able to just push her around in her stroller in the beautiful weather waiting for the other person to finish up. It was great to make it back to the temple after far too long of a break.

Saturday morning we slept in... yes, Addie actually slept in too! After we woke up, we spent the morning making glazed donuts. Now that I stay home with Addie, I have a lot of time on my hands. With all of the time on my hands, I've discovered that I love to cook! My mom never thought she'd hear those words. I love scouring the internet for new food blogs with new recipes to try... Scott also loves my new hobby. I thought it'd be fun to try this donut recipe. Scott was a little skeptical because they looked like a ton of work, but once he had his first bite, he was sold! I have to say, for our first try, they turned out quite good.
Saturday afternoon we did something that I can only recall us doing once in our married life.... shopping. Oh how I hate to shop, but since we never go, we were in desperate need of new clothes. With some birthday money from Scott's parents and Grandma Ellsworth we decided to brave the stores. It actually turned out to not be too painful and I came away with some nice springy clothes. Thank you for the birthday money!

Saturday night we enjoyed our first Blue Ray movie. We've had the player for awhile now, but hadn't used it yet. We are now sold on the Blue Ray concept. Thanks Kenny and Kari!

Sunday was surprisingly laid back. We had some friends over for dinner and got to relax once Addie was put to bed. What a great weekend. Addie and I love not having to share Scott with school!

Wow! The closest I've come to making donuts is frying Pilsbury biscuits :) Good job! And having a non-distracted husband for a weekend is the best!
