At the beginning of the summer Addie was terrified of swimming. I took her to a playgroup at a pool in April. She refused to touch the water at all. She wouldn't even sit on my lap if I had my feet in the water.
At playgroup last week I was sitting next to Addie on the stairs and was talking to another mom. All of a sudden I realized Addie was kicking her way across the pool to get to a ball she had spotted. I couldn't believe it! Ever since then, she insists on treading water (with the occasional back float attempt) the entire time we're at the pool.
\She can be a chicken sometimes. Which is why we are so proud of how far she's come. She's turning in to quite the little fish! If you tell her to go get her swimming suit she shouts, "Swimmin, swimmin!!!!" and starts running around.
The best part about it is the look on her face. She knows she's accomplished something hard and she's so proud of herself. Her swimmer parents are proud of her too!

She looks so big here and I see her almost every day. I can't believe she can do that already. Maybe I ought to let Aurora try out some water wings. Though I don't know that is quite that brave yet.
